Getting ready for 2010

Well 2009 was personally a rough year for me. But I’m glad I have pulled out of it, but before I did 2009 let me know where i stood and I did generate a single sale for the whole month of December for any of my stock photo sites. So it is a fitting end to the year and good ridden. I wont let last year set my expectations for 2010. I’m going to have a successful year this year and I’m going to have a blast doing it.

To start my year off, I got a shrink wrapped copy of Apples Aperture from Scott Bourne over at photoFocus. I got aperture installed and now I have the goal of learning a new and more efficient workflow, if anyone has some suggestions for aperture shoot (Ahh the puns) them my way as I have a lot to learn.

So Happy New Years to everyone, and I’m really looking forward to a succesful 2010 and getting to know more people in the micro stock industry.

Resurrection of the blog

Hello and welcome.

What better time to turn over and do something new than the beginning of a year. Its a time when you are already looking back on your previous ventures and are looking forward to new ones.

So for 2009 some of the goals for my adventures in photography are.

Stock Photography
I have small achievable goals in mind which I will post about later, but by Dec of 2009 I would like to be at a point where I will be bringing in around 150-200 per month from stock photography sells.

Bettering the Central PA PhotoWalks
I have some ideas to increase the attendance and participation for the photo walks in 2009, I also want to start doing studio photowalks during the colder months, more on these in a future post as well.

Expanding my photography network and presence locally.
I really want to start contributing photographically to the community where I live. This means increasing local business in the form of portrait, wedding and commercial photography for Central PA concentrating on State College and Bellefonte.

So these will be the 3 main topics of this blog over the next year as I find out how this real life choose your own adventure turns out.
